Making
wine thrive.

We get wine— from soil to shelf.

We get the growers, the wine makers and the managers. Because we’ve been growers. We’ve been wine makers. We’ve been managers—and we’re still all these things.

With a world of experience and a world-wide network of relationships we help our clients generate greater and more sustainable yields—in every sense of the word.

Oliver Crawford brings over twenty-five years of experience throughout the wine industry to Veraise. He has played key senior roles in winemaking and management for Australia’s most respected and well-known wine brands—lifting them to even greater standards and success. His expertise is vast. He’s both a master craftsman of wine as well as a skilled overseer of operations and management. From vineyard to boardroom, he’s got it covered. He has a degree in Oenology from Adelaide University, B.A.Sc.

Richard Neagle

Richard Neagle knows a thing or two about what it takes to ensure a smooth-running operation. It takes much self-restraint for us not to refer to him as the smooth operator. He’s a highly regarded and experienced procurement and relationship manager for the wine industry. He brings a deft knowledge of technical viticulture and winery intake management to Veraise. Having worked for some of the most significant wine brands in Australia, Richard’s vast network of contacts and relationships throughout the industry mean that if you need something, or someone— he knows where to find it. He has a degree in Viticulture from Charles Sturt University, B.A.Sc.

Adam Smith

Adam Smith grew up in the Clare Valley—and has never been far from a winery or vineyard (and he’s happy about that). A respected and accomplished viticulturist, working for eight years at Treasury Wine Estates. Since then, he has been an independent consultant— a gun for hire— sharing his invaluable expertise in viticulture, winery operations and business development. He prefers his sleeves rolled up and can often be found amongst the tanks in a winery or in the rows assessing fruit in a vineyard. He has a degree in Environmental Management from the University of South Australia, B.A.Sc.

We’ve got wine covered—from all directions.

We work with wine businesses to help them reach their goals, to build, to review, and to confidently revitalise what they do and how they do it.

We’re here to help the growers, the winemakers, the managers, the visionaries, and anyone looking for dependable, time-tested guidance.

We’re here for them, and we get them, because at some point we’ve probably stood in their boots (whether steel-caps or RM's).

  • We’re at home amongst the rows. With each and every vineyard comes a unique end-goal (and challenges!)—which is why we use our vast viticultural knowledge and decades of expertise to develop a tailored strategic approach for each client.

These are just a few of the ways that we apply our viticultural expertise:

    • We perform regular site visits to check that quality parameters are hitting their target disease management is sorted.

    • We develop complex soil nutrient and moisture plans that make sure the growing strategy aligns with the desired end use.

    • We advise and assist in converting vineyards to organic and obtaining organic certification.

  • Having played key senior roles in winemaking and management for Australia’s most respected and well-known wine brands we understand the business of wine and the role that winemaking plays within.

You often hear about winemaking as an ‘art’. However, we approach winemaking as a design process. It’s not a free-flowing creative endeavour but a series of clear and deliberate actions. Every vintage begins with an end goal in mind and a defined plan of how to get there.

So as unromantic as it sounds, we start with the spreadsheets long before we get crafting in the cellar.

  • We help pair wineries with fruit, and fruit with wineries. We know who wants it, and we know who’s got it.

Our wide-reaching networks of growers, makers, and buyers means that we can identify and find the perfect match for you.

We foster relationships that benefit both parties. Because with every new client, our network grows in strength, and everyone within stands to gain.
